May we be Britons: A History of the Mackenzies
Published in 2012 by Andrew McKenzie, part co-researched by Kevin McKenzie.
Using largely unpublished source material, Andrew McKenzie's account of this colourful family's history over the course of 700 years fundamentally overturns the traditional perception of the Highlander. Far from being an outmoded remnant of the Dark Ages, the clan system is shown to be a remarkably resilient and adaptable phenomenon. It thus allowed one family to make a significant contribution to many of those values that laid the foundations of the modern world.
292 pages and 214 illustrations.

Tain, Tarbat Ness and The Duke, 1833
Hamish Mackenzie, President of the Clan Mackenzie Society of Scotland and the U.K., has pieced together from original sources the hitherto untold story of how the Sutherland estate planned two acquisitions in Ross & Cromarty in 1833 - the "New Town of Tain" and the land between Tain and Tarbat Ness. We meet a number of colourful characters, many of them well known to Highland history, and some of them appear in a new light. The cast also includes assorted Mackenzies of Seaforth and Hay-Mackenzies of Cromartie and the Duke's Mackenzie lawyer, and the book contains vivid and previously unpublished descriptions of Easter Ross in 1833 taken from documents found at Castle Leod.
